Hyperlinks are widely used in documents, websites, and course content, and one of the most common accessibility issues. For people with screen readers who might regularly pull a list of all the links in a document, sifting through a whole list of links that say “Click here” or hearing a long, indecipherable link read out character-by-character can be frustrating at the least. And, as we’ve mentioned in all our accessibility tips, making your links accessible by ensuring they’re descriptive, concise, readable and identifiable will benefit everyone who encounters your content, by knowing what they’re clicking on. Making links accessible just takes a little intentionality and awareness to make a big difference in people’s experience with your content.
