Google Workspace is one of UAA’s Core Tools, and though there isn’t an accessibility checker built into Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets yet, we have a UA-approved extension that’s easy to add on and use to check accessibility in these documents. You can install Grackle, by selecting Extensions from the menu bar in a Google Docs/Slides/Sheets file, selecting Add-ons, Get Add-ons, search for Grackle, then install and log in using your alaska.edu account. Once the Add-on is installed, click Extensions from the menu bar of your file and choose Grackle, Launch and log in using your UAA credentials. When the accessibility check appears, click an error to learn how to fix it. Grackle can also export the corrected file to PDF. Some Grackle fixes (e.g., table tags) only appear when you export the PDF version with Grackle.
