Core Competencies: Effective Communication; Personal, Professional, and Community Responsibility
This panel will focus on the academic integrity issues instructors face with the recent explosion of ChatGPT and other generative AI tools. We’ll look at ethical considerations for some of the strategies showing up frequently in educational media, share how some UAA instructors are tackling AI in their courses and syllabi, and discuss how this topic fits into UAA’s broader academic integrity policies. Presenters include Andrew Harnish (Assistant Professor of Writing), Jodi Jacques (Business & Government Information Librarian), Jennie Brock (Associate Dean, College of Engineering), Kathryn Schild (Lead Instructional Designer, Faculty Development & Instructional Support), Nick Kramer (Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Ethical Development), and Trevor Gillespie (Student Conduct Administrator and Clery Act Coordinator).
